I am a Partner in the firm of CMS Daly Inamdar Advocates LLP leading the firm’s data protection practice area group. Having been admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya in 2010, my practice includes domestic and regional representation of parties before different courts, tribunals, and other forums.

Presently, as a practicing privacy professional (CIPP/E), certified with the International Association of Privacy Professionals [iapp]; I advise clients on matters data protection ranging from due diligence audits, policy drafting and compliance to breach preparedness and response among other areas of data privacy.

I am also a certified professional mediator, accredited by the Kenyan judiciary.  

1. Kenyan Data Protection Act [DPA] Compliance Audits 
   • Conducting assessments of data processing activities, processes, procedures and protocols 
2. Regulatory Advice
   • Advising on the statutory obligations under the DPA 
   • Advising on the application of the DPA to multinational organizations 
   • Providing guidance on data protection impact assessments 
   • Advising on the transfer of personal data outside of Kenya
3. Documentation Review 
   • Developing data protection policies, procedures and notices to regulate data processing activities
   • Reviewing and analyzing existing data protection procedures, policies and notices 
   • Drafting and reviewing data protection contractual clauses 
   • Reviewing contracts with third parties, controllers, and processors for data protection risks
4. Regulatory Filings 
   • Assist with and/or complete the registrations and notifications required under the DPA

   • Advising on data breach incidents and mitigation techniques

Certification as Privacy Professional [CIPP/E] from the International Association of Privacy Professionals commenced in June 2021 and completed in May 2022.
