Christine Koech

I have 22 years of experience as a journalist, having been a writer and editor for various media platform including print and digital media. 

I have experience in editing and developing content and supervising a team of writers and freelance contributors within a fast-paced environment, having held a number of roles in the private sector, spanning over 21 years in Kenya and the US. Over these years, I have also specialised in writing and editing profiles, having worked in the magazine world for the majority of that period. I found that writing profiles, especially business and career ones, was basically bringing their resumes to life and making them palatable for a diverse audience. 

I have also had exposure to the technical and engineering work culture, having worked on digital products in two instances; as a digital content producer and later as a digital sub-editor. 

My other areas of expertise include content strategy, proofreading and editing spelling, grammar and syntax, analysing readership data and analytics, magazine and newspaper design, development and management; news and feature writing, verifying content and information, digital content management and SEO, brand management and crisis management. 

Achievements include increasing reader engagement and retention and bringing in revenue for products by helping them go beyond making the sale by creating relationships with the consumers of the content. I thrive in a creative and deadline-driven environment and I have established myself as a resourceful brand ambassador who knows how to reach my target audience. 

I have a BSc degree (2003) in Communication Studies (Print and Electronic Journalism) from Liberty University in the US.
