DUTIES

 Making sure that our system is immediately updated with stocks sent to our branches by the suppliers. This is through raising all GRNs for goods received in the company.
 Following up with suppliers to ensure that credit notes are issued in case of any short supplies, no supplies, or supply of poor quality goods.
 Preparing purchase orders for all expected shipments/imports.
 Ensuring all shipments arriving are accurately received by liaising with the receiving department.
 Accurately feeding data for all received shipments in the system.

DUTIES

 Ensuring that all documents for incoming shipments are available and ready for costing to begin early enough e.g. invoices IDF, COC, and necessary certificates.
 Preparing costing templates in readiness for the incoming shipments.

 Monitoring and reporting on the profit margins for all products to ensure that no products are making any losses.
 Creating all new items/SKUs in the system.
 Categorizing of all new items in their correct departments and sub-departments.
 Maintaining the item master by ensuring that all the items remain in their correct departments and the item descriptions remain accurate.
 

MARCH 2018 – APRIL 2018:

POSITION: CATEGORY MANAGER (PROCUREMENT DEPARTMENT)

In this position, I was given the responsibility of buying and maintaining stocks for several categories of items including all bulk items and all the company’s own brands.

DUTIES

 Placing orders (both local and international) for goods in my category after performing an accurate forecast based on sales and current stocks to avoid overstocking and under-stocking.
 Proposing promotions for slow-moving items or short expiries by liaising with the marketing department.
 Ensuring that all raw materials e.g. labels, cartons, boxes, and ingredients are available and ready for all the goods that are to be repackaged.
 Rotating stocks between branches to ensure that no branches are out of stock for specific items and also ensuring that branches are not overstocked.
 Negotiating with existing suppliers for better pricing of their products.
 Sourcing for new suppliers with the aim of finding better pricing for products in my category and finding goods of better quality.
 Liaising with the accounts department to ensure that suppliers in my category are paid on time to avoid supplier backlash.
