RE:APPLICATION FOR ICT SUPERVISOR POSITION

I would like to express my interest in the position of ICT supervisor. I feel I would be an ideal candidate for this position, as I have extensive experience in the IT and communication industry.

 I am currently working with Pamoja for transformation(NGO) as a communication, knowledge management, and ICT officer. My main roles are supporting the development and implementation of a broad communication, media, and publicity strategy as part of the knowledge management system for the organization, providing ICT support to staff, maintaining system security and inventory of ICT equipment, hardware, and software by ensuring adequate functionality in collaboration with staff. Designing and managing the organization's website. Managing emails through the c-panel and the desktops, server, installation and troubleshooting. Managing local network and the internet. Overseeing the organizational online publicity including online visibility through approved social media platforms. Facilitating cross sectional learning and best practice transfer within and outside the organization through documentation and dissemination, sharing of lessons learned and staff coaching. Leading in the branding and development of communication, campaign materials including banners, media adverts, brochures, fliers, T-shirts among others, identifying new program areas and analyzing existing knowledge management support in the organizational programs and activities, supporting in documentation of the organization project success stories from the field. I have been leading in communications and branding for the projects funded by NCIC, USAID, GIZ and ACT.

Previously, I was working with Surf Kenya. My duties were managing servers, creating new users and managing the user accounts, managing network, liaising with internet service provider in case of internet failure, managing radio, configuring hardware & software, setting up& troubleshooting peripherals such as printers, routers. Repairing IT equipment and providing daily support for computer network users, performing daily and weekly backups for all the data and information and making sure it's remotely and locally stored, troubleshooting internet LAN, WAN, and WiFi, and many others also worked with Wananchi Group (K) Ltd. My duties included setting up peripherals such as printers and routers, repairing equipment, and providing daily support for computer network users, troubleshooting the internet (LAN and WIFI), providing user support, training the users on how to use the systems, and troubleshooting and resolving issues with voice communication (VoIP) and voice mail systems.

 My other work includes: System Administrator with Magana Flowers Kenya Limited and Network & System administrator with Mac Computer Ltd.

 I possess an infectious enthusiasm and am energized by working with people; these factors, combined with my strong management skills, enable me to develop close relationships with colleagues and customers alike.

Experience

  • Providing ICT support to staff, maintenance of system security and inventory of ICT equipment, hardware, software by ensuring adequate functionality in collaboration with staff.

  • Advising supply department appropriately on issues regarding procurement of IT equipment.
  • Supporting in the development and implementation of a broad communication/media and publicity strategy as part of the Knowledge Management System for the organization
  • Working in Collaboration with the organizational team to create and maintain knowledge repositories to organize articles, reports and other resources related to areas of operation.
  • Proposing and coordinating communication and training programs designed to enhance awareness of the organization
  • Overseeing the organizational online publicity including online visibility through Twitter, Facebook and any other approved social media platform.
  • Facilitating cross sectional learning and best practice transfer within and outside the organization through documentation and dissemination, sharing of lessons learned and staff coaching.

  • Identifying new program areas and analysing existing knowledge management support in the organizational programs and activities.

  • Creating and curating content (including writing, editing, proofing and formatting) for the organization’s digital platforms, and optimizing it accordingly.
  • Generating and analyzing program reports on web traffic and KPIs using Google Analytics, Hootsuite, and other social media focused analytics channels
  • Providing support to the program activities as required including, but not limited to, organizing and promoting events, drafting communications reports, supporting the creation of donor materials, and providing advice, support and training to staff regarding communications needs.

  • Bachelor of Science Information Technology, Second class Honors (Upper division),Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology 
  • Diploma in information Technology, Credit, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology
  • Certificate in digital marketing from google.
