About Caroline Gatimu:

I am currently a Monitoring and Evaluation officer supporting 11 Centre for Health Solutions supported facilities in Muranga South. I have also been a Monitoring and Evaluation officer at Centre for Health Solutions supporting 19 facilities at Gatundu Sub County. I have experience in Supporting users with IS, data collection, data cleaning, data validation, data aggregation, data review with sub county teams, able to analyze large data sets to identify gaps and trends, developing and testing tools, capacity building, data visualization, conducting DQA and developing work plans, Developing M and E frameworks and report compilation.

I have expertise in data management having been a Data Manager for 11 years in Mwea Mission Hospital Comprehensive Care Clinic and its 4 satellites under Christian Health Association of Kenya. I have also been an IT support staff for 3 years at Total Solutions for these systems: Payroll, Point of Sale, Inventory and Pharmacy System I have a Bachelor of Business Information Technology degree from Jomo Kenyatta University (Second class Upper division). Being a Certified Monitoring and Evaluation professional will ensure I Promote a results-based approach to monitoring and evaluation, emphasizing results and impacts.

  • Carry out monthly data validation and checks between registers, DHIS, DATIM and CHS systems to improve data quality and consistency for the 11 facilities.
  • Improve EMR utilization by supporting facilities in Point of Care.
  • Support dissemination of targets and monitoring achievement.
  • Support in baseline/Mid Term and End Program Evaluation.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly DQA with strategic actions points.
  • Support counties and program to carry out quarterly data review meetings.
  • Submission of facility database to the national Data Warehouse by the 5th of every month.
  • To continuously analyze routine program data to evaluate program intervention and use findings to inform adaptation strategies.

  • Reduced late reporting by 50% through ensuring adequate reporting tools were at sites.

  • Improved standardization of tools in 19 CHS supported facilities by 75% by ensuring the same version of tools were in use across all the facilities.

  • Increased collaboration between county and CHS staff by 90% by organizing Joint support supervision semiannually at the facilities.

  • Reduced patient waiting time by 90% through training HCWs on the system to ensure a seamless paperless system in the CCC.
  • Increased data completeness by 90% by ensuring 32 CHAK supported sites sent complete reports for DATIM entry.
  • Increased reports accuracy by 90% at Facility/program level through comparison with DHIS 2 reports and validating where appropriate.
