I am a Civil Engineering graduate from The Technical University of Kenya with a proven track record and experience in overall quality assurance in various engineering projects, towers, substations, high-rise buildings; reading and interpreting of construction contracts, drawings and specifications; planning and programming of construction and building works; carrying out material tests, steel structures, site inspections and evaluation of quality, safety, and environmental compliance. I also have a wide understanding of the building industry, including knowledge of materials, trades, methods, and legal requirements.

I believe I possess the ability to work with gender-diverse rural communities, skills in Information and communication technology (ICT), the ability to analyse and participate in any problem assessment and decision-making process, and the ability to work under minimum supervision. I am also a fast learner, honest, accountable, transparent, reliable, mature, self-motivated, strong professional ethics, and willing to work in remote areas with different communities.

RECENT/PRESENT EXPIRIENCE:

NOV 2024 – To date: Planate Management Group- Reemployed and Deployed to
Addis-Ababa, Ethiopia as a Construction Quality Management Observer.
Main duties and responsibilities:
I am responsible for overseeing construction-related activities on site. The
Construction Management Observer shall observe and document quality control,
material procurement, schedule adherence, site safety, and overall progress of
construction. Observation methods may include visual inspection, document review,
observation of material, and/or observation of systems testing. Will report to the
Project Manager (PMG LLC -based Project Manager) and provide weekly and monthly
reports: The Contractor shall observe and document the construction progress of the
following major subtasks:
a) Utilities – both internal and external utilities such as water, power services (to and
including the AU-PANVAC main transformers), sewage, and gas systems.
b) Foundations – excavation for foundations, compaction, sub-base, formwork,
retaining structures, penetration sleeves, concrete reinforcement, and concrete placement up to the first-floor monolithic slab.
c) Superstructure – structural steel, bracing, beams, columns, stairs, and concrete slabs/floors above the ground, and the concrete roof.
d) Exterior Closure – exterior walls, cladding, windows and glazing, exterior doors, and exterior wall insulation.
e) Roofing – roof insulation, bitumen waterproofing, sealing of all penetrations, parapets, flashings, and support structure for roof-top mechanical, roof access, and roof drainage.
f) Interior Construction – interior partitions and rough carpentry and framing, interior doors, floor screeds, and other preparation for the interior finishes.
g) Interior Finishes – wall finishes, ceiling finishes, floor finishes, millwork and cabinetry, and other interior finishes and painting compatible with biological laboratory standards and capable of withstanding regular decontamination.
h) Plumbing – cold and hot water systems, water treatment, sinks, emergency eyewash stations interior piping and plumbing vents, pipe supports, and sewage systems inside the building.
i) HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) – heating and cooling piping, steam piping, connections, air ducts, vents, HVAC supports, diffusers, air filtration systems, and radiators.
j) Mechanical Equipment – major mechanical systems such as air handling units, exhaust fans, boilers, pumps, heat exchangers, and plant equipment.
k) Fire Protection – fire suppression systems such as sprinkler systems, hydrants, fire alarm systems, gas detection systems, and lightning protection.
l) Electrical Power and Lights – wiring, panels, switches, conduits, generator(s), UPS systems, primary and secondary distribution systems (downstream of the transformer), outlets, and connections.
m) Control Systems – low voltage controls, Building Automated System (BAS), telephone, IT systems, security/alarm systems, CCTV, and access control systems.
n) Special Construction (BSL-3 Suite) – construction activity in support of the laboratory to include BSL-3 finishes and special laboratory equipment installation and specialty systems.
o) External Works – final grading, landscaping, sidewalks, curbing, and roads.

PAST EXPIRIENCE:

April 2024 – To date: V2X (Vectrus Systems Corporation)- Deployed to NSGB as an Engineering Technician.

April 2022 – to January 2024: Planate Management Group- Deployed to NSGB as an Engineering Technician.

Feb 2019 – April 2022: Planate Management Group- Civil Engineer/Project Manager.

Oct 2017- Feb 2019: Global Energy Solutions.
At this time, I registered the above-named Company where I sought and was awarded the following Sub-Contracting Projects which I handled to completion as the Project Engineer. 

  1. Subcontract - From Isolux Corsan for civil works foundations for the suswa-loyangalani 440kv transmission line (On designated sections).
  2. Subcontract - From Jyoti Structures for civil works foundations for the Olkaria-Narok 132kV transmission line. (On designated sections).
  3. Subcontract - From Jyoti Structures for civil works foundations for the Mwingi-Kitui 132kV transmission line (On designated sections).
  4. Subcontract - From Jyoti Structures for civil works foundations for the Kitui-Salama 132kV transmission line (On designated sections).


Oct 2014- To Oct 2017: Powergen Technologies LTD- Construction Engineer.

Feb 2014- Sept 2014: Iberdrola Engineering and Construction –Quality Advisor Nairobi Ring Project.
In charge of Quality on two 220/66KV substation sites at Kitengela and Isinya on Civil Works.
