I’m a medical laboratory technologist with practical experience from my internship at Homabay Referral Hospital, where I gained valuable skills in laboratory techniques and patient care. My background in tech and software development allows me to leverage technology to enhance medical processes and improve healthcare delivery. Additionally, I have worked in the banking industry, where I developed strong analytical and customer service skills. This blend of healthcare, technology, and finance gives me a unique perspective and the ability to innovate and solve problems across different sectors.

I started my professional journey as an intern at Homabay Teaching and Referral Hospital, where I developed practical skills in medical laboratory technology. This role provided me with hands-on experience in performing tests, analyzing samples, and contributing to patient care, honing my technical and diagnostic skills.

Following that, I worked as a customer service representative at Equity Bank. In this position, I refined my communication and problem-solving skills, learning to handle customer inquiries, resolve issues, and manage transactions efficiently. This role enhanced my ability to work under pressure and provided me with valuable insights into customer relations and financial services.

Currently, I’m interning in tech software development at E&M Technology House in Tatu City. This internship allows me to apply my tech background in a practical setting, where I’m gaining experience in software development, programming, and project management. This role is further developing my technical skills, including coding, debugging, and collaborating on tech projects, while also allowing me to integrate my previous experiences in healthcare and banking with cutting-edge technology.

Each of these roles has contributed to a diverse skill set, including technical proficiency, customer service excellence, and an understanding of complex systems, all of which I bring to my current endeavors in tech software development.

During my Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences at Kisii University, I acquired a comprehensive skill set and significant experience in medical laboratory technology. I mastered diagnostic techniques such as blood tests, microbiological cultures, and biochemical analyses, and became proficient in operating advanced laboratory equipment like spectrophotometers, centrifuges, and automated analyzers. My education also enhanced my abilities in data analysis, quality control, and technical report writing.

I gained practical experience through extensive laboratory training and an internship, where I applied theoretical knowledge in real-world settings, interacted with patients, and collaborated with healthcare professionals. Participating in research projects further developed my research, critical thinking, and presentation skills. Additionally, the program helped me build strong teamwork and communication skills, essential for working effectively in medical and research environments.

Throughout my studies, I also engaged in volunteer activities, such as mentoring high school students under the Equity Group Foundation, which allowed me to balance academic responsibilities with community service and leadership.
