I am a skilled and experienced communications professional with more than 20 years of experience in Journalism. My initial area of specialisation was in Television news reporting; capped by the winning of a CNN Award for outstanding reporting. I have since widened my repertoire having joined the County government of Siaya as the Communications Director for the past 8 years. I am endowed with the ability to conceptualise and produce compelling and emotive content. I am also a trainer/mentor; I worked as the broadcast trainer at Internews in Kenya for years and used many workshops to transfer knowledge and skills to both staff and apprentices. In the Health Media project, sponsored by USAID, I tackled training on reproductive health, HIV reporting amongst other health issues. I am adept at developing curricula and training manuals while also evaluating and writing reports. I am a Chevening scholar with a Master's degree in journalism. I am fluent in English, Swahili and speak a bit of French and Lingala.
