I am currently serving as the Chief Credit Officer at a Kenyan Development Bank; the Agricultural Finance Corporation managing a credit portfolio in excess of USD 80 million. I overseeing the entire credit portfolio and management of all the Corporations 48 branches, 6 Regional Offices and Operations Department with a combined staff force of 350 members. 

I am a MSC Finance & Investment (completed course work) and a B. A. in Economics from the University of Nairobi. I am also a CPA finalist from the Strathmore University. I have undertaken various management courses notable Agricultural Credit Analysis by the UNs FAO, designing Index Insurance products by the World Bank and a Quality Management Assurance and Environmental ISO auditor.

I have successfully rolled out several credit related donor programs that included Government of Kenya financing to farmers with over 32,000 appraisals, A guarantee scheme by IFAD under the PROFIT Program, USAID KIMS, USAID REGAL, USAID KUZA and INK Fund and the RTI and Palladium joint funding to projects within the Western Kenya region.

During my engagement with the Corporation I have undertaken the formulation and implementation of the 2018/2022 Strategic Plan and the implementation of monumental assignments that included:

(i) The Workout of a previously non performing loan through a sale and resettlement program on a 7212 acres security owned and squatted on by over 4200 families. The Integrated resettlement program got government backing with a project value of over Kshs. 1 billion,

(ii) Designing and managing a Kshs. 1.25 billion Credit Portfolio to the Western Kenya Sugar Development Program

(III) Designed and implemented a Core Banking Platform for agricultural development projects in liaison with Craft Silicon. 

(IV) Implemented the 1st successful crop index insurance program in Kenya in collaboration with the FSD Kenya and APA Insurance.

The current reforms I am continuing to implement in my role  include pushing the arrears position to single digit and continue implementing the recommendations of the African Development Banks, Prudential Standards, Guidelines and Rating System (PSGRS) whose implementation I introduced to AFC and champion to date.
