About bernard orimbo:
I am a highly accomplished, resourceful and solutions driven social worker and leader with over twenty years demonstrated achievements in managing programs across sectors in development, humanitarian, and recovery portfolios in Africa and Asia. These include child protection, health, livelihoods, CBDRR and emergency response. Currently, I lead Save the Children’s most complex and challenging program that seeks to improve learning outcomes for over 40,000 girls affected by conflict in Northern Nigeria. I was among the think tank team that initiated campaigns in Africa aimed at raising awareness on harmful practices including FGM, early, forced and child marriages and was at the center of organizing Africa’s first national summit on girls held in Zambia in 2013. In my most recent assignment, I oversaw the Irish Aid programs across the Horn of Africa, that included gender, climate action and humanitarian response. I have a proven track record of successfully leading people, honing processes and standards, strengthening professionalism, and managing multiple large-scale, complex and triple-nexus projects globally. This passion for children led me to establish the East Africa Child Rights Network in late 2015, a platform that brings together community groups and actors that promote the human rights of children and girls in East Africa
