Alvin Okello

I started my career in June 2004 in Washington DC as an Associate Engineer with Pepco Holdings International. After a role there designing power supply to large commercial and residential buildings within the District, I relocated to Kenya in early 2007, where I have held several roles as an electrical engineer with small and large consulting firms.

Over the years, I have developed skills with ERP software such as SAP, as well as with design software such as Autodesk AutoCAD and REVIT, among others. I have been a part of small and large project teams and led several teams of sub-contractors on various sites both locally and beyond our borders. I am passionate about the engineering practice in general, especially the current move towards green energy and the use of environmentally friendly sources of power within the industry. I have designed projects where solar photovoltaic power was used to complement utility electric power and where automation for lighting and other systems has been required by the clients.

I enjoy meeting and working with people from across the technological divide, am comfortable interacting with clients and all stakeholders to ensure laid down targets are met.
