About ACHUODHO KACHUODHO:

Zedekiah Achuodho Kachuodho is an agricultural expert having over 10 years in agricultural food production, processing/value addition and marketing majorly for small and medium scale farmers. He advises on good agronomic practices, crop nutrition, climate smart agriculture, and crop pest and diseases integrated management, small scale farmers’ linkage to affordable financial institutions for agricultural financial products, principles of post-harvest handling and management, crop quality and markets and other emerging agricultural issues

Experience

Mr. Kachuodho has been very instrumental in planning training programs on crop security and emerging pests like fall-army worm and other good agronomic practices for good quality crops in Kisumu and Migori Counties – a program by Kenya crops and dairy marketing system of the USAID feed the future program. Mr. Kachuodho submitted a project proposal research, ‘Impact of post-harvest losses on pineapple growers in Rangwe Constituency of Homa-Bay County to the faculty of Agriculture the University of Nairobi in partial fulfillment of his Bsc. Agricultural Education and Extension degree in the year 2012. The proposal put him ahead of others in getting an opportunity with the county government of Homabay to become the assistant manager for the multi-fruit processing plant project. 2 He has also worked for Cereal Growers Association as an Agribusiness Coordinator in a program designed by World Food Program called; Farm to Market Alliance in Migori and Kisumu County charged with project implementation, budgeting and planning for field trainings, advisory and stakeholders’ engagements. Before, he was a project assistant manager for Homabay County in a project called multi fruit and vegetable processing project where stakeholder engagements lead to review of the pineapple feasibility study done by International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) into a business plan by the Industrial and Commercial Development Corporation (ICDC). He also participated in the writing of a funding proposal by Kimira-Oluch Smallholder Farm Improvement project KOSFIP to African Development Bank for the second phase. He was also instrumental in the program-based budget making of the county government of Homabay representing the department of trade in the budget process with special focus on the key agro-processing projects that were to be established. He helped with the resource allocation and budget items of each project to be established and accompanied the Chief Officer of the department of trade, Industry and cooperatives to appear before the county assembly budget committee to defend the respective budgets allocated to the planned establishments of the agro-processing plants projects. Zedekiah Achuodho Kachuodho holds a Bachelor of Science degree (Bsc) from the University of Nairobi in2012. Mr. Kachuodho has also done certified public accounts section 1 & 2 by KASNEB and currently pursuing MBA – marketing option part-time from the University of Nairobi
