Abdikarim Haji

I am a communication specialist with relevant training and experience in the industry. I have excellent knowledge and demonstrated expertise in the industry. Having worked with various UN Agencies as a communication specialist, I possess proven expertise in media relations, project design and strategic communication, documentation and reporting, donor management and liaison, and partnership management and networking. I seek to obtain a position with an organization where I can use my energy and skills to develop, motivate, lead, and encourage productivity.

I bring a wealth of experience spanning over four years in the Communication industry. I have worked with various U.N. Agencies as a communication specialist. I have proven expertise in media relations, project design and strategic communication, documentation and reporting, donor and liaison, and partnership management and networking.

Currently, I am working with United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Corporate Services Division as a Programme Assistant. I support the partnership process with private sector partners using the UNEP’s Partners’ Portal, including validation, risk and strategy assessments.

I previously held diverse communication posts; I worked as a Public Information Assistant at the U.N. Great Lakes, supporting the Special Envoy in implementing communication strategy in the 13 countries covered by the mission. Before this assignment, I worked for the United Nations Information Centre for Kenya, Uganda, and Seychelles (UNIC Nairobi). In this position, I had the privilege of collaborating with several U.N. agencies, including UNHCR, the Resident Coordinator Office (RCO), U.N. Communication Group (UNCG), Member States, NGOs, Youth, Local and international media.

Furthermore, I supported the elaboration, implementation, and reporting to UNCT on communication and advocacy policies, helping foster solid partnerships with various stakeholders. I monitored all communication platforms, managing, and creating content for all social media platforms and websites.
