SEPT 2018 TO DEC 2018: INTERNSHIP VOLUNTEER AT THE GARISSA COUNTY REFERRAL HOSPITAL RESPONSIBILITIES • Pediatric ward, assessing new patients, admitting ,enrolling to the program of nutrition services. • Maternal and child clinic (MCH/FP), counseling mothers on good nutrition and that of their child • Diabetic clinic, assessing patient and encouraging them to eat fruits and vegetables and also doing regular exercise daily to reduce fats in the body • General awards, identifying patients with severe medical conditions such T.B, chronic kidney failure, chronic obstructive , chronic cancer, acute malnutrition, burns and fractures to prepare for their suitable meals at every condition to manage • Maternity wards, assessing patients and administering vitamins such as vitamin supplementation and nutrient such as liver,eggs,milk for those patients with the Hb of less 10 to 3g/d. • Comprehensive care centre (CCC) ,Ensuring patient to be assessed on the base of nutrition services
